Vaccines and You with Dr. Jennifer Njenga

Dr. Jennifer Njenga is the CEO of Canada HomeCare Group. She presents a three part series on the efficacy of Vaccines. In this workshop, she defined what the Covid 19 is and the havoc it has wrecked across the world, how people get the virus, what we can do to reduce the spread of the virus and why we must get vaccinated.

From her slides, she shares:

“COVID-19 is a respiratory disease caused by SARS-CoV-2, a new coronavirus discovered in 2019. The virus is reported to spread mainly from person to person through respiratory droplets produced when an infected person coughs, sneezes or talks. The virus may also spread when a person touches another person (i.e., a handshake) or a surface or an object that has the virus on it, then touches their mouth, nose or eyes with unwashed hands. The virus may also spread when a person touches another person (i.e., a handshake) or a surface or an object (also referred to as a fomite) that has the virus on it, and then touches their mouth, nose or eyes with unwashed hands. Disease ranges from mild to severe and some people may be asymptomatic”.

Adults 65 years and older and people of any age with pre-existing medical conditions are at a higher risk for severe illness. Symptoms may take up to 14 days to appear after exposure to Covid-19.
